Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and The Bookish. This week’s theme is:

Top Ten Authors I REALLY Want To Meet

I’m actually really shy in real life. Go figure right – an introverted and shy bookworm – way to live up to a stereotype!? But seriously, I would probably be way too nervous to meet any of my favourite authors. However, if I were braver, here are those I would most like to meet:

Untitled monette

1. Robin Hobb

Robin Hobb’s Realm of the Elderlings series is my favourite series ever! I would love to meet her and ask questions about the characters like is The Fool male or female? I know it is very, very unlikely this question would be answered but a girl can dream, right?

2. Sarah Monette

I love Sarah Monette’s Doctrine of Labyrinths series – I would love to meet her to gush about how much this series has meant to me and how much I love these broken characters.

3. Marissa Meyer

I would love to meet and chat with Marissa Meyer. I would love to get the chance to talk to her about her incredible Lunar Chronicles series.

4. Richelle Mead

Richelle Mead is pretty much single-handedly responsible for getting me back into reading young adult novels so I would like the chance to meet her and thank her for this. Plus, I would love to get all the gossip about Adrian!!

5. Melina Marchetta

I would really love to meet Melina Marchetta and chat about how much I adore her writing. I would love to ask her about her inspiration for writing Jellicoe Road.

6. Juliet Marillier

I practically worship at the altar of Juliet Marillier. I adore all of her books and they have gotten me through some tough times. I would really love to meet her and tell her so.

7. George R.R. Martin

This is an obvious one really! I would love to find out the inside scoop about some of the characters backgrounds in this series (any fan will know who I mean). 😉 Plus, I would really love to be present for one of his readings. T’would be awesome!

8. Karin Lowachee

I love, love, love her Warchild series with the heat of a thousand suns! The author is also really great at interacting with fans and often answers questions via social media and on her forum. I would like to meet her and talk about my favourite characters Jos, Evan and, of course, Erret! Not to mention thank her for coming up with such complicated but awesome characters in the first place. 😉

9. Maggie Stiefvater

I would love to meet Maggie Stiefvater and tell her just how much I adore her Raven Cycle series. Plus, she seems like a really cool and awesome person and I would love some of her cool to rub off on me, lol. 😀

10. Ilona Andrews

This husband and wife writing duo are beyond awesome. I am a frequent visitor of their site and I really like how they interact with their fans. I would love to meet them (and find out if they ever plan to write any books about George and Jack).

I totally agree about Juliet Marillier and Maaggie Stiefvater. They really do have the knack for really drawing you into the lavish worlds they are creating and have such amazing characters that you just connect with. 🙂

They are both awesome – I love the Lunar Chronicles and the Raven Cycle series so much. I can’t wait for the next books but at the same time I don’t want them to end either. 😉

Lol – there is always someone you forget. I have missed off several of my favourites that I should have really had on the list. 🙂
