Stacking the Shelves – a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews & Reading Reality

what’s the buzz: weekly round-up and book haul

This week was the UK release of Wayward Son (though I already bought the eBook when it released a week earlier). I finally got my special Waterstones edition with floral-sprayed edge and signed by Rainbow Rowell herself! I was so happy to finally have a physical copy (I’ve got a US edition coming soon as well – though this one isn’t signed). I reviewed the book last week and posited that a follow-up was likely (I had a hunch) and I was proven right because the third book Any Way the Wind Blows was announced a couple of days ago! I am so happy!

I went to see The Goldfinch on Thursday (though I haven’t read the book yet). I rather enjoyed it but it was a looooong film – be prepared for a numb ass afterwards! We were planning to go see Joker on Saturday but didn’t feel like it once we got up (the weather didn’t help – it had been lashing it down all day). So we decided to go today instead. Not sure what I thought of it, to be honest (and not sure if anyone could top Heath Ledger’s iconic performance).

Apart from that, nothing much else going on this week. Got some cool bookish merchandise in the mail (I love buying the merch almost as much as buying and reading the books!)

bookish merch

Bookmarks from Jessica Jade Designs (insta: @jessjadedesigns); some signed and personalised bookmarks from Natalia Jaster (insta: @nataliajaster) who was so lovely to send to me after taking part in a cover reveal for Tempt – the third book in her Selfish Myths series; buttons and art from Dae After Tomorrow (insta: @dae_lightt)

Embers of Memory game by Kuro released by Osprey Games (insta: @ospreygames) with art by Coralie Jubénot (insta: @merwildandco) – I also got the pre-order poster a few weeks back but it was too big to include in the photo!

Book Sleeves by Book Besties UK (insta: @bookbestiesuk); pin from Illumicrate & Fable and Black’s Monthly Pin Club (insta: @illumicrate and @fableandblack); pins from Iron and Ink Designs (insta: @ironandinkdesigns)

Simon and Baz Bookmark from Bazzle Dazzle Drawings (insta: @bazzledazzledrawings) – this was originally a double-sided laminated bookmark but it must have split sometime during shipping (ah well, two bookmarks it is!)

Bookmarks from Till and Dill (insta: @tillanddill) – I love their bookmarks!

However, in spite of the fact I had a pretty good blogging week last week, I’ve totally fallen by the wayside again this week. I’ve just lacked motivation so I’m my own worst enemy lately…
