A short, sexy and scary read.

The Benson hotel in Portland, Oregon might look like your ordinary, swanky turn-of-the century hotel, but deep in the heart of this historic icon, lie a few restless souls with secrets that won't stay buried.

Amateur ghost hunters (and your favorite "will they or won't they" pair) Perry Palomino and Dex Foray spend an evening exploring the hotel for their Internet show "Experiment in Terror" - but this is no ordinary hotel and this is no ordinary episode.

There's someone here in the Benson, someone dead, who will push the boundaries of what the duo know about ghosts and challenge Perry's very notion of the truth.

The Benson is a short (but still very creepy) novella set just after the events of Red Fox, book two of the Experiment in Terror Series.

In this installment, Perry and Dex and invited to explore a supposedly haunted hotel in Portland. Of course, the usual hi-jinks occur and the two ghost hunters once again find themselves confronted with visions of ghostly apparitions. This may be just the chance they need to finally lend some credibility to their internet show but will they be able to make it through the night?

Filled with tension (of the supernatural and sexual variety) The Benson was a fun and compelling read. The banter between Perry and Dex just leaps off the page. The two of them have such amazing chemistry it is almost tangible.

The haunted hotel setting was scarily effective (it brought to mind The Shining and also the movie 1408). It was a little short (I seem to always want more with this series!) but is a worthy entry which fans of the series would be remiss to to miss out on.
